Home riders make clean sweep on the short route

Bergamo’s Team Morotti score one-two with Fabio Fadini and Marco Maggi while Laura Isotti (AS Boario) wins the women’s race

It has been two years without the Gran Fondo Felice Gimondi Bianchi but the wait is finally over and the city of Bergamo can embrace again 3500-rider peaceful invasion at first light. Beneath a clear sky, the hunt for the victory in memory of Felice has started although the real privilege is just to be here  and enjoy the race.

The first two hours are for selecting the best on the 89,4-km short route: Bergamo’s Fabio Fadini e Glauco Maggi – both Team Morotti riders and former GF Gimondi winner – score a one-two with a perfect team strategy.  while Sicilian  Francesco Pizzo bring the third place to highlight Obbiettivo 3, the Italian paralympic icon Alex Zanardi project encouraging disable athletes to take on sports.

Also the women’s race awards an athlete from Lombardy, Luisa Isonni (AS Boario) ahead of Milena Felici (golf sport entrepreneur in Rome); and Alessia Ravasi at her freshman year.
