BGY Airport Granfondo: here is the 2024 Official Jersey
The arrivals area of the International Airport “Il Caravaggio” of Milan-Bergamo hosted today the preview presentation of the Official Jersey of the BGY Airport Granfondo, made by Santini Cycling Wear, with an exclusive limited edition design.
A collector’s jersey, a trendy and coveted item for many cycling fans and others, which can be received for an extra charge when registering for the event, which is scheduled for Sunday, 5th May 2024 under the aegis of the Italian Cycling Federation.
Joining organizer Giuseppe Manenti was Giovanni Sanga, president of SACBO Spa, the management company of Orio al Serio Airport, who commented: “This is the second year that we are alongside this event, and for us it will be a year of great relaunch. Last year we tried it out and it was a success, so we want to help the event grow again, and as an airport we are committed to supporting the organizers and making sure that it is still a top-level event”.
An event that also fits in perfectly with the values of the Bergamo Airport: “We are the first bike-friendly airport in Europe and we have long embraced the value of the bike and the connection to a lifestyle that puts the bicycle at the centre as a means of transport and entertainment to go to work, to train, to do sports and many other things. In short, for us multimodality is a value, i.e. the possibility of switching between several means of transport, and we are investing in this and are convinced that we will achieve a good result,” Sanga concluded.
The Official Jersey presented today was made by Santini Cycling Wear, the leading clothing company in the cycling sector that, in addition to the International Cycling Union (UCI), Tour de France, Tour de France Femmes and great Monumental Classics such as Paris-Roubaix, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Fleche Wallonne, has always been at the side of the BGY Airport Granfondo, the reference amateur cycling event that takes place on the roads of the city and province of Bergamo.
The design of the 2024 jersey is inspired by the graphics of the event, with its white and blue colours and its symbols. The first is the symbol of the three mountains (Colle Gallo, Selvino and Val Taleggio), which are the three climbs symbolising the event; the chain to represent the three possible routes of 89, 128 and 161 kilometres; the barcode symbolising BGY Airport; the circle that between the start and the finish from the city of Bergamo encloses all 36 municipalities involved in the passage of the event; and finally the fantasy design that represents just that bit of imagination that is never missing and that every year the organizers put in together with so much passion to give an unforgettable experience to all participants.
