BGY Airport Granfondo: an unmissable weekend as cycling returns to color the roads of Bergamo
On the eve of the event, Saturday 9 May, the Lazzaretto will host race pack distribution and all preliminary operations, officially kicking off the weekend celebrations. On Sunday 10 May, Bergamo and its valleys will become the stage for a spectacular cycling event.
For one weekend, Bergamo will once again become the capital of cycling. An entire city ready to welcome riders, enthusiasts and families for a weekend dedicated to sport, conviviality and two wheels.
On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May, Bergamo will transform into the beating heart of cycling thanks to the BGY Airport Granfondo, an event that combines the beauty of the local territory, the thrill of competition, the highest organisational and safety standards, a rich prize purse, and the prestige of tackling some of the most iconic roads and climbs in cycling history.
The weekend will begin on Saturday 9 May at the Lazzaretto of Bergamo, near the Stadium, which will once again open its doors to the thousands of cyclists taking part in the event, along with family members, friends and fans travelling to Bergamo to enjoy the atmosphere.
Inside the historic venue, all preliminary operations will take place, including race number and race pack distribution. The race office and press room will also be operational from the morning.
Opening hours will be from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
Sunday 10 May will be the big day: amateur cyclists from every region of Italy and several countries around the world are expected to gather on the start line in Via Marzabotto to experience the excitement of the BGY Airport Granfondo, riding through breathtaking landscapes and roads steeped in cycling history and effort.
Starting grids will open at 6:10 AM, while, as tradition dictates, the official start signal will be given at 7:00 AM, sending the long and colourful peloton rolling through the streets of Bergamo and its surrounding province.

Registration for the BGY Airport Granfondo remains open until race packs are sold out via the dedicated forms available on the official event website: www.granfondobgy.it, or directly at the GMS offices in Via G. Da Campione, 24/c – 24124 Bergamo (tel. +39 035 211721).
