BGY Airport Granfondo unveils the 2026 jersey: “Fundamental Signs”
More health, less pollution, multiplying sustainable growth, dividing traffic: cycling told through its fundamental signs.
BGY Airport Granfondo presents the official jersey for the 2026 edition, the latest chapter in the “Signs Jerseys” series, a creative and cultural project launched in 2024 that combines cycling, design and contemporary values.
Following “Distinctive Signs” in 2024 and “Vital Signs” in 2025, the journey continues with “Fundamental Signs”, a jersey inspired by the four universal mathematical symbols: plus, minus, multiply and divide. Simple and instantly recognisable signs, shared across cultures, chosen to express the profound and modern role of cycling in everyday life and urban development.
The “plus” sign represents the added value of cycling in terms of health and well-being. Riding a bike promotes physical activity, improves quality of life and helps prevent numerous diseases, while also supporting mental well-being.
The “minus” symbol stands for environmental sustainability. Cycling is a zero-emission, efficient and silent mode of transport that actively contributes to reducing air pollution and improving urban air quality.
The “multiply” sign reflects the positive impact of cycling on the economy. Investing in cycling infrastructure supports a greener economy, reduces social costs related to traffic and pollution, and encourages sustainable tourism that benefits local communities and territories.
Finally, “divide” represents a more balanced urban mobility. More bicycles on the road mean less congestion, better use of public space and more liveable cities, especially for everyday and short-distance travel.
With “Fundamental Signs”, BGY Airport Granfondo reinforces its vision of the official jersey as a true statement of values, going beyond sport to communicate a broader cultural and social message.
The Signs Jerseys series will continue through 2028, building a coherent narrative in which cycling becomes a powerful driver of positive, cultural and social change.
