The new celebrative jersey of the amateur race, whose 20th edition will be run on May 15th, 2015, inspired to Mondrian\u2019s paintings, was presented at the Bergamo airport<\/em><\/p>\n Granfondo Gimondi \u2013 Bianchi<\/strong> flies high. The first act of the 2016 edition<\/strong> took place inside the Bergamo \u2013 Orio al Serio International Airport<\/strong>, now the third Italian hub in terms of passengers. More internationally oriented as editions come by, the event celebrating legend Felice Gimondi<\/strong> reaches the 20th edition<\/strong> banner on Sunday May 15th<\/strong>, and launched today \u2013 January 29th<\/strong>, the celebrative jersey<\/strong> dedicated to the special anniversary.<\/p>\n Inspired to Dutch painter Piet Mondrian<\/strong>\u2019s works of art, the 20th anniversary jersey shows an original patchwork<\/strong> of all the jerseys accompanying the most significant wins of Felice Gimondi, whose emotion was clearly perceivable. \u201cIt is a beautiful jersey<\/em> \u2013 Gimondi told \u2013 and I think our participants will love it. It has a special meaning for me, it is like a summary of my whole career. I wish I could share every little patch of this jersey with my domestiques, who helped making those great wins possible.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n On the occasion, GF Gimondi\u2019s organizer Giuseppe Manenti<\/strong> presented a special artistic installation<\/strong> recalling the 20 years of the event, built on carton boxes symbolizing the historical \u201carchive\u201d of Gimondi and his race, to whom were associated the celebrative jerseys an object related to every success. \u201cI really liked the fact that the Tour de l\u2019Avenir jersey was matched with binoculars<\/em> \u2013 Gimondi said, – as indeed I showed a look-forward attitude in my career. And then the glass can containing the marbles of the whole Salvarani team: it is something I want to keep in my house, with the fondest memorabilia.<\/em>“<\/p>\n Bergamo<\/strong> is setting up to welcome in May a big-numbers event, further extending its popularity beyond the Italian borders thanks to the new partnership with Italy Bike Tours<\/strong> (a UK focused cycling tour operator) and to the support of the Bergamo\u2019s hub, today represented by the\u00a0chief press officer Eugenio Sorrentino<\/strong>. \u201cThis event<\/em> \u2013 Italian Cycling Federation\u2019s Vice-President Michele Gamba<\/strong> told \u2013 is a role model for everone: organizational quality, excellent safety conditions, cultural initiatives. Helping to spread the knowledge of the cycling tradition is certainly a spot strategy<\/em>\u201d.
