A bronze sculpture celebrates Felice\u2019s triumph at Tour de France 1965: a perfect merger amid memory and reality, event and recurrence<\/em><\/p>\n Everything looks special at upcoming 19th Granfondo Internazionale Felice Gimondi-Bianchi<\/strong> to be held next May 10th<\/strong>: the scenario (Bergamo<\/strong> and its landscapes), the amazing courses (short 89,4km<\/strong> \/ medium 128,8 km<\/strong> \/ long 162,1 km<\/strong>), the event (50 years of Felice Gimondi victory at 1965 Tour de France<\/strong> with a beautiful celebration jersey), the permanence (the biggest and nicest one at Bergamo\u2019s Lazzaretto<\/strong>, 10.000 sqm), the high quality standard (under the guidance of organizer Giuseppe Manenti by G.M. Sports<\/strong>), the 130th anniversary of Bianchi<\/strong>, the most historical cycling brand.<\/p>\n Special awards to be delivered to any category\u2019s winner and medals for all participants will be precious and unique as well. Well-known Master-goldsmith and sculptor since over 30 years, Antonino Rando<\/strong>, hand-made them at his lab in Alm\u00e9 (Bergamo).<\/p>\n The relationship between Granfondo Gimondi and M\u00b0 Rando runs since long time: \u201cI always followed the event, I love cycling, sports and bikes. So.I became Gimondi\u2019s close friend and still I am<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n Movement represents Rando works\u2019 landmark, to bring forth to dynamic sculptures and jewels mirroring contemporary art. \u201cThe trophy I made arose from previous ones, displaying Bergamo monuments as a symbol of Gimondi\u2019s town. I also restored the graphic of Salvarani jersey Felice was dressing 50 years ago. I basically looked for a perfect merger amid memory and reality, event and recurrence<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n M\u00b0 Rando took care of special wax technique to shape the trophy personally. \u201cBronze melting process allows to produce the copies for the event.
