On Sunday, May 10, Bergamo will once again host the major cycling event, confirming its strong international appeal also thanks to the valuable partnership with Bergamo Airport.<\/em><\/p>\n

The city and province of Bergamo<\/strong> are preparing to welcome thousands of cyclists from all over the world for the BGY Airport Granfondo<\/em><\/strong>, taking place on Sunday, May 10<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With registrations still open until race packs sell out, the event has currently reached 2,500 registered riders<\/strong>. Of these, 6.4% are women.<\/p>\n

A total of 30 nationalities are represented, spanning four different continents. European countries taking part include: Italy, Switzerland, Germany, England, Scotland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Romania, France, Hungary, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Slovenia, Ukraina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Malta and Turkey.<\/p>\n

Participants from the Philippines and South Korea will represent Asia, Argentina, Venezuela, United States and Mexico will represent the Americas, while Egypt, Ghana and Morocco will be present from Africa.<\/p>\n

As for Italian participation, riders come from 30 provinces, with Bergamo, Milan, and Brescia being the most represented. The first province outside Lombardy is Trento, followed by Turin and Vicenza.<\/p>\n

BGY Airport Granfondo therefore confirms itself as an event of major international significance. In these days, BGY Bergamo Airport<\/strong>, title sponsor of the event, is also getting ready to welcome hundreds of participants who will use the Bergamo airport as their gateway to the city, conveniently located just a few kilometers from the event start. Bergamo is once again becoming the capital of cycling: an entire city ready to welcome riders, enthusiasts, and families for a weekend dedicated to sport, togetherness, and two wheels.<\/p>\n

The weekend will begin on Saturday, May 9<\/strong>, with the historic Lazzaretto of Bergamo, near the stadium, once again opening its doors to the thousands of cyclists taking part in the event, as well as family members, friends, and fans coming to Bergamo for the occasion.<\/p>\n

Inside the historic venue, all pre-race operations will take place, including race number and race pack distribution. The race office and press room will also be open from the morning. Opening hours will be from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.<\/p>\n

Sunday, May 10<\/strong>, will be the big day: all participants will gather at the starting line on Via Marzabotto to experience the excitement of the BGY Airport Granfondo, riding through breathtaking landscapes and roads rich in cycling history and challenge.<\/p>\n

Starting grids will open at 6:10 AM, while, as tradition dictates, the official start gun will fire at 7:00 AM, sending the long and colorful peloton through the streets of Bergamo and its province.<\/p>\n
