This year, the event is set for <strong>Sunday, May 4th<\/strong>, with both the start and finish line located on Via Marzabotto, near Bergamo\u2019s Stadium and the historic Lazzaretto. As was the case last year, the festivities will begin the day before, with preliminary operations, race pack collection, and the opening of the ExpoVillage at Santini Cycling\u2019s headquarters on Via Zanica in the Malpensata district.<\/p>\n<p>Several authorities attended the presentation, including <strong>Fabrizio Zambetti<\/strong> (Head of the Bergamo Brescia Lario Territorial Division of Banco BPM), <strong>Giovanni Sanga<\/strong> (President of SACBO Spa), <strong>Marcella Messina<\/strong> (Bergamo Municipality\u2019s Sports Councilor), <strong>Edi Jareci<\/strong> (CEO of 3T Bike), <strong>Roberto Perico<\/strong> (Banco BPM), and event organizer <strong>Giuseppe Manenti<\/strong> (G.M.S.).<\/p>\n<p>During the presentation, several strengths of the event were highlighted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Strategic Location<\/strong>: The proximity to Milan Bergamo Airport makes it easily accessible from both Italy and abroad, fostering strong international participation. Additionally, technical insights were provided on the <strong>Nembro-Selvino Time Trial<\/strong> and the emotional connection to the late <strong>Eugenio Mercorio<\/strong>, a dear friend remembered by the cycling community.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_11292\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11292\" class=\"wp-image-11292\" src=\"https:\/\/www.granfondobgy.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/162216_0029RBGYGranfondo\u00a9diego.degiorgi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.granfondobgy.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/162216_0029RBGYGranfondo\u00a9diego.degiorgi.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.granfondobgy.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/162216_0029RBGYGranfondo\u00a9diego.degiorgi-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-11292\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">p<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>PROGRAM OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, May 3rd \u2013 Pre-Race Day<\/strong><br \/>\nSantini Cycling will open its doors (from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM) to thousands of cyclists and fans arriving in Bergamo for race pack collection and to enjoy entertainment and refreshment areas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, May 4th \u2013 Race Day<\/strong><br \/>\nThe traditional race area at <strong>Lazzaretto<\/strong>, near the start\/finish line on Via Marzabotto, will once again light up for the BGY Airport Granfondo 2025.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>6:10 AM \u2013 6:50 AM:<\/strong> Opening of starting grids<\/li>\n<li><strong>7:00 AM:<\/strong> Start of the first grid and the race<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE THREE ROUTES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event offers three routes tailored to different types of cyclists and fitness levels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Short Course:<\/strong> 89.4 km (1,400 m elevation gain)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Medium Course:<\/strong> 128.8 km (2,100 m elevation gain)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Long Course:<\/strong> 162.1 km (3,050 m elevation gain)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The race crosses <strong>six valleys<\/strong> (Val Cavallina, Valseriana, Val Serina, Val Brembana, Val Taleggio, and Valle Imagna) and <strong>37 municipalities<\/strong>. The initial <strong>71 km<\/strong> are common to all participants, reaching the top of the legendary Selvino climb. From there:<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>short course<\/strong> diverges back towards the finish line. The <strong>medium and long courses<\/strong> continue toward Costa d\u2019Olda and Forcella di Bura.
