The BGY Airport Granfondo is an international cycling event held every year in Bergamo on the first or second Sunday of May (Serie A Calendar). Established in 1996, it has been one of the most prestigious granfondo events on the Italian and international cycling scene for over 30 years and is included in the FCI\/UCI calendar.
\nStarting from Bergamo Municipal Stadium, the routes cross a fascinating landscape featuring iconic climbs, mountains, valleys and historic villages. Bergamo is also home to BGY Milan Bergamo Airport, Europe’s first bike-friendly airport and the event’s title sponsor, connected to the city centre by a dedicated cycling and pedestrian path.
\nThe BGY Airport Granfondo promotes cycling as a sporting experience, a sustainable means of mobility and an opportunity to discover an outstanding destination, inspired by the “slow ride” philosophy and the values of environmental sustainability. All types of bicycles are welcome, including road bikes, e-bikes, gravel bikes, folding bikes, city bikes and more.
\nParticipants can choose the route that best suits their fitness level:<\/p>\n

- Medium Route: 130 km | 2,100 m D+<\/li>\n
- Long Route: 148 km | 2,800 m D+<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
With 29 editions and almost 40 years of experience in organising road cycling events, the GMS ASD team, led by Beppe Manenti, guarantees a well-established organisation, high safety standards and meticulous attention to every detail.
