The GF Gimondi Bianchi is a race against the weather

The 23rd edition of one of the most beloved cycling4fun events takes place tomorrow, May 5th, in Bergamo: looking to the meteo forecast, the organizers stand ready for any scenario

While a weak sunrise appears over Bergamo, with a few hours to go to the 23rd edition of Granfondo Felice Gimondi Bianchi, weather forecasts report heavy rain and maybe some snow for tomorrow, Sunday May 5th, but no rain so far in spite of all that.

The 4.065 riders at the start look tense and a bit concerned: bad weather might be their main  opponent along the way. The solid organizational staff with 880 persons throughout the course keep their wits spreading on-time updates to all the participants, aiming to make the event work regularly and in complete safety anyhow.

Everyone hopes a good day coming up afterwards to celebrate the “icon” Felice Gimondi, one out of “magnificent 7” winning all three “Grand Tours” (Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, Vuelta Espana), to whom this edition is dedicated.

The crowded village inside the “Lazzaretto” headquarter welcomed thousands people sharing the unique atmosphere of the eve day and the common effort to safeguard the environment by saving plastic bottles.

The GF title sponsor Bianchi invited more than 100 guests from all over the world to share with them a glamorous cycling experience.
