An ATB Branded Bus to Promote the BGY Airport Granfondo 2026

Once again this year, an ATB (Azienda Trasporti Bergamo) city bus will be travelling through the streets of Bergamo, promoting the BGY Airport Granfondo. Until 10 May, the fully branded vehicle will operate across all urban routes, helping to showcase the iconic Bergamo-based granfondo.

The city of Bergamo strengthens its bond with cycling and with the BGY Airport Granfondo through a high-impact communication initiative: a fully customised ATB public transport bus that, until 10 May, will circulate on all urban routes, promoting the historic granfondo.

Scheduled for 10 May and organised under the aegis of the Italian Cycling Federation (FCI), the BGY Airport Granfondo once again confirms itself not only as a major sporting event, but also as an important opportunity to raise awareness among citizens and institutions about sustainable mobility, road safety and respectful coexistence between all road users.

The Official Presentation

The branded bus was officially unveiled this morning in front of Palazzo Frizzoni, home of the Municipality of Bergamo, in the presence of Enrico Felli, President of ATB, Elena Carnevali, Mayor of Bergamo; Marcella Messina, Councillor for Social Policies, Longevity, Health and Sport of the Municipality of Bergamo; Giovanni Zambonelli, President of the Bergamo Chamber of Commerce; and Giorgia Gandossi, Councillor of the Province of Bergamo.

A Moving Communication Platform

As in the previous edition, the bus selected for the initiative will operate across the entire ATB network, ensuring widespread visibility throughout the city. The graphic customisation, active until the day of the event, covers a total surface of approximately 80 square metres, including both sides and the rear of the bus.

Thanks to this mobile communication platform, the message of the BGY Airport Granfondo will reach a broad and diverse audience: ATB’s network carries over 25 million passengers every year. Special thanks go to Enrico Felli, President of ATB Mobilità S.p.A., and to General Manager Eng. Liliana Donato for their support and collaboration in making this project possible.

Sport, Safety and Sustainable Mobility

Beyond promoting the sporting event through the official slogan of the 2026 edition, “BGYou… are you in too?”, the initiative aims to deliver a clear message about the importance of safer, more sustainable and inclusive urban mobility. Cycling is thus highlighted not only as a sporting activity, but also as an everyday means of transport that is environmentally friendly, fair and respectful.

The BGY Airport Granfondo branded bus therefore becomes the symbol of a shared journey: one that brings together sport, territory and community, and looks toward a city increasingly focused on quality of life, sustainability and safety for all.
